When arriving in Berkeley Springs after dark, dining choices seem pretty limited. We stopped at the gas station and asked if there was anywhere to go for dinner, and the employees suggested Angus & Ale. It's located in the parking lot of a hotel, and the parking lot lighting is poor, so you have to be looking for the place in order to find it. Nice atmosphere, service was good, food was good. We were there on a Friday night and they were busy with lots of locals. No complaints, but nothing that really struck us as outstanding either. If we were in Berkeley Springs for dinner again, this is probably where we would go.

Hidden gem is a perfect description. If it weren't for Yelp, a GPS and a keen eye, we never would have found it. Signage is a must!!! OK, this place is a little dusty around the edges, but not gross. The crab soup tastes like a restaurant soup base with nothing added - Blech... No crab was sighted. However, what makes this place I'll run back to was the service, the steak (omg so good for the price!), and the super good corn bread, veggies and baked potato! But that steak! Wonderful rub, cooked to tender perfection, not a hint of gristle, fat, or toughness. And the price was outstanding. Seriously, make that crab soup from scratch, add some actual crab, and charge a couple bucks more. You won't regret it!

Great experience here. Had very good crab legs and my friend really enjoyed her salmon. This place is so much better than some of its raved-about, pretentious competitors around town.

Wings, shrimp, and prime rib, all excellent. Nice beer selection. The service was top notch. The ambience was ok, but it was clean and the service was efficient which matters more to me.

Great place for a steak grilled to perfection, great beer selection and a small town atmosphere. Will go back for sure. You can't beat the prices either!

This was a HORRIBLE experience for me. I have never eaten in a place like this. Husband and I walked in and there was a strange musty smell. We arrived thinking we would have a beer and a burger. We were told by our waitress, who coughed on us first, that they were ALL OUT OF DRAFT BEER - What place called Angus & ALE has NO ALE! Then we ordered burgers, my husband ordered the land and sea burger and he was served the burger, but not with the old bay mayonnaise that was promised in the menu, but APPLE BUTTER, yes you read correctly apple butter. When we had had enough of my soggy cold fries, the waitress brought out the desert tray (so old fashioned) with the fake deserts - we did NOT get desert. We will NOT be going back.

Steaks where spicy and tender. Not great cuts but good. Server was a bit inexperienced, but the food did arrived as ordered.

Portabella fries? Wow, surprisingly good, with a spicy Ranch dipping sauce. Almost filled us up. Cup of crab soup quite good. Ribs were better with sauce on the side. Generous portions. Coleslaw was forgettable. Still, quite satisfying. Coffee to go made a long road trip more enjoyable. Worth a bookmark for our next time passing through.

I love Angus. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu. Chili is amazing. Wings are awesome. Brunch buffet on Sunday's are wonderful. Our favorite place in Berkeley Springs. Highly recommend. :)

This place saved our anniversary after a horrible experience at Maria's Garden Inn. Nice wine. Delicious crab cakes. Cozy bar. Friendly bar tender. You can even do some gamblin' in the back room. :0)
